“Trolley” good gift for Easter

Whilst many community groups received chocolates during the Easter period, our Managing Director, Neil McCulloch, gifted something a bit more practical to a community group – a folding trolley!  The folding trolley was one of the items the local PE4 Wombles had on their ‘Wish List’ to help them in their aim to keep the area clean and tidy for the benefit of local residents and wildlife to enjoy the outdoor space in the area.

The PE4 Wombles can often be seen with their litter pickers and bags in hand, cleaning up the pathways, roads and public green spaces around the area, but one of the things that hampered them is carrying it around to the nearest drop-off point to be collected.
Neil, Managing Director, said “Insurewise’s offices are based in the PE4 area and we all benefit from the great work community groups such as the PE4 Wombles undertake to make the place a better place for everyone. I was pleased to be able to help them in some small way to keep the area clean and tidy and a place to be proud of as somewhere to live and work.”
“Our Marketing Manager, Jackie Hall, is a member of the group so it was good to help a cause that the Insurewise team are associated with too.”

The new folding trolley came in really handy on the first day of use as the group collected 10 bags of rubbish from around the local Brook and surrounding area and used the trolley to transport the bags a collecting point.  In addition, on the day the PE4 Wombles retrieved a set of keys from the Brook and through the power of a local community Facebook page reunited the keys with their owners by lunchtime!
The Easter 2024 weekend coincided with the national “Great British Spring Clean” that took place during the 15th – 31st March 2024 where people across the country were encouraged to go out and clean up public spaces in the ongoing campaign to “Keep Britain Tidy”.  Although the majority of the population dispose of their rubbish in the right way, a small proportion discard items without any care to the impact it has on the community and wildlife.

The PE4 Wombles recently celebrated their 3rd anniversary in March 2024 and, during this period, they have collected over 4,000 bags of rubbish!  A big thank you on behalf of the local community for all their hard work and for making the place a better place to enjoy.

Thank you to Insurewise for your very practical Easter gift.
